We understand that moving into a care home can be a difficult time for both the resident and their families. With this in mind, we encourage a trial period to help with the transition and deciding that “this is the home for me”. A needs assessment will also be completed to ensure that we can meet the resident’s needs before they move in. When a resident does move in, a plan of their care will be set up. This is written with the resident and will promote choice of the care they receive and help with daily living, for example, washing, dressing and medication.
Eridge House has a very homely and vibrant atmosphere which is clearly shown through our staff and residents alike. It’s easy to make new friends and enjoy the social company of others. Some of our activities include outings, music for health, physical motivation classes, board games, reminiscence quizzes, bingo, sing along afternoons and cinema afternoons. Services provided in the home include hairdressers and chiropodist. Religious services are also carried out in the home for those wishing to attend. Residents are encouraged to keep their links with the outside community, for example, attending church, day centres and personal hobbies.
